07.31.09- Still putting off posting in my new blog, but then again it isn't August yet. Demo Reel isn't quite complete, I still need to finish both a situational animation and a new lip sync for the beginning. The lipsync is a little under half-way done, the situation in story board stages. I've been going to the zoo on a regular basis, and have updated my sketch section accordingly. I have some new material for my still image gallery, but I won't be able to upload until September. Speaking of which, I am well over due for a vacation. Starting tomorrow I'm officially taking a break to work on my own personal art and such. For those of you interested, I will be in the San Francisco area starting tomorrow for the San Francisco's Women Film Festival. I will also be in Washington for another premier on October 17th. I've recently purchased a zoo pass for my stay in Kansas coming up on August 15th; I hope to get lots of practice in as well as upload some of my human pieces. I tend to shy from that, but I need to get it taken care of. So when I get back expect the following: - Perchance to Dream website complete (especially the awards section!) - Life Drawing Section updated with human subjects and additional animal subjects - Still Image Gallery Updated - New Blog will be up and running 07.02.09- I've been putting off posting in my new blog, but promise to scrap this blog in favor of my new one come August. Currently I'm hard at work on my professional portfolio, most of which has not been posted on my website as of yet. I'm also working on my demo reel, all due to be completed October 2009. With my new blog I hope to upload the sketches that I don't upload on my sketch section of my website due to pure tedium. Today I received the Golden Pineapple Award in the mail which was very, very exciting! :) Perchance to Dream has also been recently accepted into the Woman's Film Institute Shorts Tour which will be touring in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York. As if that weren't enough, Perchance to Dream is going to be featured in the upcoming issue of Animation Reporter India so keep your eyes open for that. Working on my new short, "Never Again" is proving to be incredibly consuming both emotionally and physically and I'm taking a small break to work on a small 5 or 10 second animation to refresh myself. I like to make animations that have an impact; that help bring attention to something important in an unconventional way. People don't like to be preached at, and they are smart enough to come to their own conclusions about a subject. I see my animations as a sort of presentation of a message that is delivered from a new perspective so that the audience can see it and decide for themselves what to make of it. "Never Again" is...a very hard message to present. I don't want to say in the developing stages what that message is yet, but come December, my projected completion date, you'll see why it's hard to present and why I need this short break. When I have the rough stages of the animation complete and the clean up process begins, I will be sure to upload a poster and introduce everyone to my new short. 06.15.09- Updated Perchance to Dream's Press Release section as well as screening section. Summer semester's been wearing me down a bit, but I still intend to finish the updates for this site. Also new, Perchance to Dream won first place in the Felder Family Film Festival. :D I'll try not to be such a stranger. I'll also try to put some new art work up as my gallery is becoming increasingly outdated. Good stuff will be coming on it's way shortly, including some snap shots from my new animation, "Never Again". 04.02.09- I've just finished registering what I hope will become my new official blog. In the mean time I've fixed the format of my still image and sketch galleries. My animation gallery, demo reel, and Perchance To Dream sites are still under construction. I hope to make them available as soon as possible but do to end of semester finals it will probably be some time after April 17th. Something I will be writing about in length in my new blog, I've been honored with the gold in the audience choice award at the South Beach International Animation Festival. 02.25.09 - Updates are gruelingly slow. As soon as I wrapped up, "Perchance to Dream" I found myself bombarded with all sorts of happenings. First I realize that this blog is inadequate for my updates. I plan to create something a little less primitive for future updates, but I'll be taking that one tired step at a time. I won't be posting my demo reel until God only knows when, although it is in the works, I still intend to reformat and update my portfolio page, I also intend to update the site layout and my site bio. I have not the slightest idea when I will find time for this endeavor, but with Perchance To Dream beginning it's journey into film festival-dom I will be needing to set aside some time for the site and for Perchance To Dream's official site. Speaking of which, Perchance To Dream's website is featured on the welcoming screen. There's not much to it yet, and I have a temporary light box code set up until the final layout's been decided upon. The price of being a full time college student during mid-terms is a complete crunch on time. I will tend to the updates once I've gotten more than a few hours of sleep. 01.26.09 - Happy Belated New Year! I'm happy to announce that my animated short, "Perchance To Dream" is finally complete! I will be designing a website specifically for, "Perchance To Dream" on the Solace Skies server. I hope to have a trailer up with snap shots, festival updates, synopsis, etc. My next personal project has yet to be announced. In the mean time I've been doing some poster work for the film, "Section B" (www.sectionbmovie.com) and building upon my portfolio and demo reel. More updates coming soon!
